Gastón is the Project Associate for Pesticide Management of the FARM Project in Ecuador, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Gastón has over fifteen years of professional experience in pesticide management, hazardous waste handling, sustainable development, and project administration within the agricultural sector. His work focuses on the implementation of initiatives aimed at environmental protection, sound chemicals management, and the strengthening of sustainable production systems, combining strong technical expertise with inter-institutional coordination and strategic planning. Prior to FARM, he worked with UNDP and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition under the National Chemicals Management Program, where he supported the planning, coordination, and monitoring of activities related to highly hazardous pesticides, obsolete pesticide waste, contaminated site remediation, and multi-stakeholder processes, contributing to the achievement of technical and operational targets at national level.
Gastón holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering and has a solid technical background complemented by extensive experience in project implementation, regulatory support, and capacity development related to sustainable agriculture and environmental management.
