Holger Schmid

Holger is responsible for implementing MAVA’s strategy for Switzerland, as well as the Sustainable Economy Programme. He oversees all projects and partner relations for both programmes. Together with the other Programme Directors and the Director General he also jointly manages MAVA’s overall project portfolio, including its global projects.

Holger is a member of the European Coaches Network for adaptive management using the Conservation Measures Partnership Open Standards for conservation practice. He joined MAVA in 2005 having previously worked for WWF in the Mediterranean and in Mongolia. He has a Master’s degree in biology from Bayreuth University in Germany.
