Baomiavotse Vahinala Raharinirina works at the Madagascar Ministry for Environment and Sustainable Development. With a PhD in environmental economics and natural resources, sustainability and passionate patriot at heart, she decided to lend a hand in rebuilding her country after 17 years in Europe where she combined research and teaching and consulting. She did not hesitate for one moment to the call from the President of Republic of Madagascar. Coming back to the country to lead the Environment and Sustainable Development Department, although she regularly visited Madagascar for her teaching and research activities, as well as associative and entrepreneurial ones, making the choice to return definitively to Madagascar may seem surprising when the trend observed among young people in the diaspora is rather to seek expatriation.
