Dr. Hoseok Kim is a Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Environment Institute (KEI) and a member of the GGKP Research Committee on Metrics and Indicators. His primary research field is environmental economics and sustainable development, with a focus on policy analysis and planning.
After his first book, UNFCCC and Climate Policy (2005), Dr. Kim explored various areas of climate economics and policy, from theoretical analysis of induced technological change, to quantitative analysis and modeling of climate policy. His recent work has focused on implementation of the 2030 Agenda and green economic transitions.
Prior to current position, Dr. Kim was Head of Green Growth Methodology Development Unit and a Principal Economist at GGGI, where he developed methodological tools for its Green Growth Planning program, including green growth indicators and assessment frameworks. In 2008, he served as climate policy expert to the Prime Minister’s Office. From 2003 to 2008, Dr. Kim was a research professor of the Institute of East and West Studies at Yonsei University, where he developed courses on climate change and sustainable development.
