Jay Ram Adhikari

Jay Ram Adhikari holds a Ph. D. in Environmental Policy and Governance and is currently working as Under Secretary in the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, Government of Nepal. He has more than 25 years of professional experience in the areas of environmental management and policy formulation, community-based integrated watershed management, environmentally sound management of persistent organic pollutants and climate change adaptation.

Currently, he is working as a National Programme Managerof Pilot Project for Climate Resilience funded by CIF and administered by ADB. Moreover, he serves as a Bureau Member of the Intergovernmental Science Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), representing Asia Pacific region and actively facilitating the process of the biodiversity assessment as a member of the Task Force and Management Committee. Furthermore, Mr. Adhikari also designated as Science and Technology Correspondent of UNCCD from Nepal and Focal Point of Sustainable Consumption and Production and Disaster Risk Management.
