Jessika Berns was Senior Communications Officer at the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) from 2017-2022—a fast-paced and exciting growth period for the partnership and its knowledge and user base.
In this role, Jessika helped launch the Green Industry Platform and Green Finance Platform; coordinated communications for projects including Economics for Nature, GO4SDGs, and the Germany-funded Green Economy Transformation project; delivered fifty-five webinars, and organized high-level events at the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) as well as locally in Geneva, Switzerland.
Prior to joining the GGKP, Jessika developed content for OpenWHO, the World Health Organization’s Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform, and coordinated communications for IUCN World Conservation Congress 2016 and the International Labour Organization’s Green Jobs Programme.
Jessika began her career as a Production Assistant in her hometown of Toronto, Canada, where she managed all travel, schedule and filming logistics for an award-winning documentary film crew.
Jessika holds a Master of Political Science, Environment & Sustainability from the University of Toronto and is a graduate of the Duke Global Policy Program.
