Professor Joseph Adelegan is a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer. He earned two Doctorate Degrees. He earned a Doctor of Management (DM) Degree from the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, United States. He also gained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Nigerian Premier University of Ibadan. He is a Member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council. He is a Professor of the Practice of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Venda, South Africa. He is also a visiting Professor of Water and Energy Engineering at the Pan African University established by African Union and located at Tlemcen, Algeria.
He has 28 years distinguished professional experience with the public and private sector, civil society, education, research and innovation on environment and sustainable development, economic and social infrastructure among others. His professional experience spans the European Union, World Bank, AfDB, DFID, ECOWAS, UNDP, UNOPS and Australian Aid among others. He is the Founder of Green Globe SME Funds, a Green Patient-Capital Social Impact Investment Fund with operations across Africa. Professor Adelegan has made appearances in international telecast including CNN and BBC. He is a recipient of several global awards and recognitions including 2009 Technology Pioneer of the World Economic Forum, Geneva, Switzerland and 2009 Technology Award Laureate of the Technology Museum of Innovation, San Jose, California, USA among others.
