Kai Bethke

Mr. Kai Bethke was appointed as the Director of External Relations by UNIDO Director-General LI Yong in 2017. As part of this activity, he is responsible for the organization’s relations with all member states and for communication. In 2007, Mr. Bethke took over the management of the UNIDO Regional Office for Mexico and Central America in Mexico City and, in 2013, the UNIDO Regional Office for Southern South America in Montevideo. Mr. Bethke began his career in the private sector in Bogota with the Colombian-German Industrial and Trade Chamber. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Nuremberg.
