Kamleshan Pillay is the Climate Finance Lead at the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) and a climate finance technical advisor on the Mobilising Private Investment for NDC Implementation project, funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUB). Kamleshan has specific expertise on adaptation finance and he has worked on climate finance initiatives with a wide range of institutions, including the South African government (Department of Environmental Affairs), the Norwegian Government (Climate and Environment Department [KLD] and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), international organisations such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the South African Development Community (SADC), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Somalia and South Africa, as well as major donors such as the Norwegian Agency for Development Coopoeration (NORAD).
