
Kevin Fan Hsu leads the Resilience/Sustainability research cluster at the Centre for Liveable Cities, Singapore, a division of the Ministry of National Development. He focuses on urban sustainability, energy efficient & low-carbon development, and climate resilience. As a research fellow at the Urban Redevelopment Authority, he also supports efforts to utilize digital technologies in city planning and heritage conservation. He has worked on both sides of the Pacific, including in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and San Francisco.
Kevin has taught courses in Urban Studies and International Policy Studies at Stanford University, where he co-founded the Human Cities Initiative, and periodically offers design thinking courses at the d.school (Hasso Plattner Institute of Design). He received a Master’s in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Stanford University and undergraduate degrees in Earth Systems and International Relations. He also trained in Cultural Heritage Management at Johns Hopkins University.
