Lowri Angharad Rees has spent the past 13 years working for the UN in a range of roles at global, regional and national levels. This has included monitoring progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals; mainstreaming sustainability into economic and development planning at the national and sub-national levels; and coordinating the development of policy-relevant scientific assessments on natural resource use.
She also spent several years working on intergovernmental processes such as the UN Commission on Sustainable Development and the UN Conference on Sustainable Development and has managed cooperation with a number of UN agencies and other partners.
She is currently based at UN Women’s Liaison Office In Geneva, where she is the focal point for Women’s Economic Empowerment, covering intergovernmental processes and cooperation with partner organizations related to trade, employment and the world of work, economic development, and innovation and technology.
