Lucía Ruíz Ostoic is the Minister of the Environment of Peru. She is a lawyer with an MA in Business Administration, an MA in Sustainable Development and an MA in Legal Research, as well as complementary studies in governance and political management, environmental and natural resources law, public management, among others. Lucía has over 20 years of experience working on issues related to natural resource management, particularly water resources management, as well as protected natural spaces and environmental issues. She also has experience in project management that engages the private sector to enhance local capacities. She is a Professor of Water Law, and a speaker at various national and international events, in terms of natural resources and protected natural areas. She served as Vice Minister of Strategic Development of Natural Resources of the Ministry of Environment (2018 - 2019).
