Luciane Lenz is a researcher in the “Climate Change in Developing Countries” research unit at RWI - Leibniz Institute for Economic Research in Germany. Her research focuses on the adoption of energy technologies and subsequent impact on energy use, economic wellbeing, health and the environment. She is involved in impact evaluations by means of experimental and quasi-experimental quantitative methods as well as qualitative approaches and objective health and air quality assessments. This has included grid extension activities by FMO in Rwanda, and solar off-grid provision by MCC in rural Indonesia. In cooperation with Duke University, Université Gaston-Berger, and GIZ’s Energizing Development program (EnDev), she evaluates several activities of the Senegalese Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energy Development in the cooking stove sector. Her research findings have been published in the World Bank's World Development Report.
