Luis Mundaca, Ph.D. is Professor and Research Coordinator on Policy Analysis at the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University, Sweden. He is also Research Associate at the Centre for Energy and Environmental Economics at University of Seville, Spain. Luis is an environmental economist who works in the fields of climate change, energy, resource efficiency, behavioural change and development. He is particularly interested in the design, implementation, performance and evaluation (ex-ante and ex-post) of policy instruments. Luis leads the research programme on behavioural economics on energy and decarbonisation at the IIIEE. He has been a Lead Author for the Global Energy Assessment and the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, Working Group III). He is currently a Lead Author for the IPCC Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5˚C. Luis has advised numerous companies, international development agencies and government ministries across the Americas, Asia and Europe. He sits on the editorial boards of ‘Climate and Development’ and ‘Applied Energy’.
