Markus Janser works in the research department “Regional Labor Markets” at the Institute for Labor Market Research (Institut fuer Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung, IAB) of the German Federal Employment Services in Nuremberg. He is currently finishing his doctoral dissertation at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg (Chair of Sociology, especially Labor Market Research and Regional Research). He works on projects about the labor market impacts of environmental and climate protection, the occupational effects of technological change, and the spatial disparities of labor market processes. Markus Janser studied Business Administration at the Bristol Business School (University of the West of England, Bristol, UK) and the ICN École of management (Université Nancy 2, France). He also studied social work at the Ev. University of Applied Sciences, Nuremberg. Markus Janser received a master’s degree in business administration in 2004 and a diploma in social work in 2000. He joined the IAB in 2004. There, he had worked for nine years in the research management department before he changed to the research department in 2013. He has further working experience in the consulting sector as well as in the public services sector.
