Matias Gallardo

Matias Gallardo serves as the focal point for the Inclusive Green Economy Initiative and the Finance Initiative of UNEP in the Regional office for Latin America and the Caribbean. He has conducted the implementation of green economy/green growth projects in several countries in the region. Since the beginning of this year, he also coordinates the activities of the Latin America Task Force Members of the Finance Initiative, promoting the adoption of Environmental, Social and Governance criteria within the operation framework of financial institutions.

Matias experience on economic development policy is based on seven years of work in public sector, NGOs and international organizations. Most of his work has focused at the regional level for Latin America and the Caribbean. He holds an MSc in Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
