Mihaela Claudia Paun

Mihaela Claudia Paun is Programme Management Officer within the Knowledge and Risk Unit at UNEP’s Chemicals and Health Branch – Industry and Economy Division. She primarily focuses on the provision of project and programme management on the prevention, minimization, and environmentally sound management of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), pesticides and lead paint-related activities. 

Ms. Paun started her career more than 18 years ago in the Ministry of Environment of Romania in the fields of chemicals and waste and industrial pollution control. Her work focused on the international and regional negotiations of chemicals and wastes-related MEAs and EU acquis; development of strategies and action plans for the reduction of harmful pollution; environmental permitting, pesticides management; inventory of environment pollution sources and their releases; as well as development and implementation of on-ground projects.
