Nafisatou Cissé is a Program Manager and Team Leader at Lead Exposure Elimination Project (LEEP), an international NGO that works with governments and industry in 16 countries across three continents to end the availability of lead paint. Its mission is to eliminate childhood lead poisoning and improve the health and potential of children worldwide.
Nafisa was previously an Environmental Health Communication Specialist at the World Health Organization, where she coordinated WHO’s efforts for the elimination of lead paint in Africa. From 2017-2020 she was Projects then Partnerships Coordinator at UNEP’s Regional Office for Africa, where she oversaw several chemicals-related projects including the SAICM Lead in Paint project in over 25 African countries. She is a Fulbright Scholarship alumnus and holds a Masters in Communication and a Graduate Certificate in Global Health from the University of Kentucky.
