Nils Ohlendorf currently works as a researcher and PhD candidate in the „Climate and Development“ working group of the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC Berlin). His research focuses on distributional impacts of carbon pricing, carbon price expectations and the political economy of energy transitions in developing countries.
Nils studied at the Freie Universität Berlin and holds a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Public Economics. He further studied Industrial Engineering with a focus on Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency (B.Sc.) at the University of Kassel and the Technical University of Budapest.
Prior to joining MCC he worked for the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) in the department for energy, transport and environment, the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) in the Energising Development (EnDev) programme in Ethiopia and for Green Budget Germany (FÖS) in the energy politics section.
