Nils Westling is a consultant and holds the position of research coordinator for the Haga Initiative, a business network of 15 Swedish companies aiming for zero climate impact. Nils holds a master's degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics where he focused on environmental economics, the value of ecosystem services and green welfare measures. Nils is currently involved in several research projects, spanning from valuation of ecosystem water services to co-benefits of climate change mitigation measures. The research engagements of the Haga Initiative have a particular focus on the profitability and competitiveness effects of companies’ climate change efforts. The member companies show that active climate responsibility provides concrete economic advantages and thereby inspire other companies to set stricter emission reduction targets and transparently disclose their climate efforts through annual climate reports. The 15 companies have set a target to reach net-zero emissions by 2030.
