Prof. Wang Jinnan

Prof. Wang Jinnan is President of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning (CAEP) and Director of the State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory of Environmental Planning and Policy Simulation. He is also an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and member of the Environment and Resources Protection Committee of the National People's Congress.

His work includes developing a series of national pollution reduction programmes and leading the design of national environmental policies, such as for environmental protection taxes, emission trading schemes, and ecological compensation. He has also carried out research for the past 16 years on national green GDP accounting, Gross Ecosystem Product and Gross Economic Ecological Production.

Wang has received numerous awards for his work, including National 100 Talents, State Excellent Young Scientist, State Excellent Researcher, China Green Figure and the Global Swede Award.
