Rob Macquarie

Rob Macquarie is an analyst in CPI’s London office, focusing on tracking and evaluating the impact of climate finance flows. In his current work, Rob focuses on developing new methods to widen the scope of the Global Landscape of Climate Finance series. He also works on CPI’s evaluation of the UK government’s Climate Public Partnership Programme (CP3), an innovative climate finance mechanism promoting private equity to raise low-carbon, climate resilient investment in developing countries.

Prior to joining CPI, Rob was an economist at the financial reform organization Positive Money UK, where he authored reports on the role of the Bank of England in greening and shaping the UK’s financial system and led engagement with policymakers and green finance experts both in the UK and abroad. In 2016, he worked for Vivid Economics, participating in projects on MDB adaptation finance, market readiness for renewable energy in Peru, and carbon pricing instruments.

He holds an MSc with distinction in Comparative Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
