Dr. Ronal Gainza is programme officer at UN Environment. He coordinates green economy/green growth projects in countries from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Ronal works currently for the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE). PAGE initiative seeks to put sustainability at the heart of economic policies and practices to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and supports nations and regions in reframing economic policies and practices around sustainability to foster economic growth, create income and jobs, reduce poverty and inequality, and strengthen the ecological foundations of their economies.
Ronal is author of several articles published in peer-reviewed journals and books in the area of Economic Policy, International Affairs, Climate Change and Green Economy. He has also contributed in the recent past to some of UN Environment’s publications on Green Economy, notably on Indicators and Modelling. Ronal has a special interest and has been working in macroeconomic analysis of green policies, using models and indicators for applied policy analysis as tools for estimating and measuring the benefit flows from investments in the environment that can spur economic growth, job creation and social inclusion.
