Salimata is a Senior Natural Resources Governance Officer at the African Natural Resources Centre (ANRC) of the African Development Bank. She oversees the Governance workstream, coordinates the gender mainstreaming initiatives crosscutting various sectors in the Centre programs and serves as a focal point for CSO engagement in Natural Resources Management. Before joining ANRC, Salimata worked at Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) for a few years as Program Coordinator for the Economic Governance Program and in that capacity, she managed projects in areas of Natural Resources Management, Anti – corruption, Transparency & Accountability in the public sector, Government delivery of inclusive services, Policy Research Support & Innovation across West Africa. Prior to this, she worked in various NGO's and International Organisations like the International Federation of the Red Cross as a Migration Officer and other national and international projects such as the Project for Integrating climate change adaptation into sustainable development (PAA/INTAC) as National Gender Consultant. Salimata is the author of several scientific studies and articles in the field of gender and natural resources management, climate change and migration. Salimata holds a Master of Science in Fisheries Engineering Technology from the University of Kaliningrad, Russia, a Master' Degree in Natural Resources Management & Sustainable Development from the Institute of Environmental Sciences, University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar, Senegal and a Certificate on ‘Competing claims on natural resources’ from the Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation, Netherlands. |
