Sang Dae Choi

Mr. Choi is a Senior Economist working at the Climate Change Group of the World Bank Group. He joined the WBG in April 2013 and has been working on developing climate change and green growth strategies in countries and sharing Korea’s green growth implementation experiences. His current working focuses are climate resource mobilization at a country level and linking climate change and green growth with public expenditure management. 

Before he joined the WBG, Mr. Choi worked at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance in Korea for over 20 years, concentrating on formulating and implementing economic and public financial policies. Most recently, formulating and coordinating Korea’s national budget as chief director, he served to justify and defend Korea’s green growth budget among all competing priorities. Mr. Choi holds a Master degree of Public Policy from University of Maryland.
