
Sarwat Chowdhury manages the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) environment programme in Korea and is a co-focal point for the multi-UN agency Partnership for Action on Green Economy initiative. Sarwat has over 20 years of work experience in sustainable development, climate change, circular economy, gender, renewable energy, forestry, water, and disaster management areas. Sarwat has a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. She is a development professional with multiple international peer-reviewed publications. She has worked for UNDP in South Korea, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and in NY, USA. Before joining UNDP, Sarwat worked for the World Bank, DfID, Greenpeace, Grameen Bank, Save the Children, and other organizations across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America.
