Shruti is the India project coordinator for the IISD’s Geneva based Global Subsidies Initiative (GSI). Her work experience and academic research reflect her interest in environmental policy and poverty. Shruti’s second Master’s degree in 2012 focused on the politics of poverty schemes by examining India’s rural employment guarantee job scheme. For the GSI, Shruti researches India’s policies on fossil fuels and its social implications.
Before joining the Global Subsidies Initiative, Shruti worked as a project manager for the British Council’s climate change project in Delhi and tracked India’s stand in the climate change negotiations.
Shruti holds a Masters of Science in Development Management (2012) from the London School of Economics and Political Science; Post Graduate in Communications Management (2006) from Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad; and a Bachelor of Arts (hons) in Mathematics (2003): Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.
