Silvi Llosa is a Programme Officer in the UNEP Economics and Trade Branch's Research Unit. Silvi coordinates UNEP's contribution to the GGKP and is managing the preparation of the 2014-2015 GGKP Annual Conference.
Silvi has been working most recently as an independent consultant with UN organisations on climate change issues. She was a lead author of the IPCC’s Special Report “Managing the Risk of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Adaptation” for which she wrote case studies on education and legislation. As the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction climate change focal point she led efforts on adaptation to include risk reduction in the agendas of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the IPCC. She was briefly with UNCTAD and UNITAR Chemicals. Silvi was a co-editor of a book on climate change mitigation options with colleagues of the World Resources Institute. While based in Rio de Janeiro, Silvi worked with a network of Brazilian NGOs on land use issues in the international climate change negotiations. She holds a Master's from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
