Ursula Becker is project director of a globally acting support project for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) review and implementation processes at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Berlin. She has over 20 years of experience in international cooperation for sustainable development, playing different roles on various assignments, mainly in China. As an expert for environmental management and resource efficiency, she has provided advice for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Germany and abroad. Since 2003, she has been advising governmental institutions at national and sub-national level on environmental and climate policy. She holds a M.Sc. of Chemical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld and began her professional career in the chemical industry before venturing into project management for sustainable development.
