Wilfried Lütkenhorst

Wilfried Lütkenhorst (Ph.D. in development economics) started his career as a researcher and lecturer at Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany. For most of his working life he served in various functions within the United Nations system, inter alia as Chief of Cabinet and Managing Director at UNIDO as well as Vice-chair of the system-wide UN Development Group. He has published extensively on issues related to development cooperation, private sector development and various aspects of gobalization. Following his retirement from UNIDO in early 2013, he has assumed positions as Guest Professor at the School of Economics and Resource Management at Beijing Normal University and Associate Fellow at the German Development Institute.
