Developed by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD), the Green Events Tool (GET) helps greening the planning and management of conferences, meetings, exhibitions and many other events.
The tool provides an all-encompassing approach that tackles all issues ranging from transportation and lodging, to paper trails and energy use with the central aim to identify ways to reduce the carbon footprint of events.
The tool includes an assessment framework that covers an event sustainability checklist, a carbon footprint calculator and the proposal of green building practices.
