The Sustainable City Development Index – Brazil (IDSC-BR) helps track the engagement of all Brazil’s 5,570 cities on the Sustainable Development Goals, gathering data on more than 100 indicators and measuring progress on sustainable development for each Brazilian city,

The index provides an overview and integrated view of Brazilian cities., and aims to stimulate compliance with Agenda 2030 and an opportunity for cities to integrate with the most advanced global sustainable development agenda.

The IDSC-BR reveals a gap between Brazil’s cities and regions along the social, economic and environmental dimensions of the 2030 Agenda, showing disparities between the cities in the southeast and north regions. It was presented during the July 2022 session of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) as a solution to promote sustainable development in cities.
