The main objectives of the Dhaka Water Supply And Sanitation Project for Bangladesh will be to: re-engage with two utilities the Bank has had a long association with and assist them develop a strategy to provide a reliable, sustainable and affordable WSS service to meet the Millennium Development Goal (MDG); and support immediate improvements of the water supply, sewerage and storm water drainage situation in coordination with other financing agencies. The changes include: extension of the project closing date by six months, from December 31, 2015 to June 30, 2016, in order to allow for full implementation of ongoing works that are critical to achieving the project objectives. This will be the second extension of project closing date for a cumulative total of 36 months.
