The Government of Indonesia (GoI) recognizes that to become one of the top ten largest economies in the world by 2025, socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable growth needs to take root throughout the Indonesia. In support of this goal, GGGI is providing technical support to the regional Development Planning Agencies (BAPPEDA) in both Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan provinces. The Central and East Kalimantan provinces project is:
- Supporting the mainstreaming of green growth into midterm development plans
- Conducting green growth project assessments
- Developing green technology business cases
- Providing REDD+ support
- Developed unique, province-specific engagement strategies
The overall objectives of this project are to support the integration of green growth mainstreaming activities and REDD+ initiatives into sub-national (i.e. provincial and district-level) planning.
