
The project will contribute to stimulating investment and policy initiatives that promote Green Economy in Kenya. By doing this, it will enhance and support the existing and future national programmes on Sustainable Development, climate change and sustainable energy production.
The project comprises of the following components:
1) A Green Economy Assessment - A quantitative analysis to identify the key opportunities for a green economy transition in Kenya including the potential impact of increased green investments in terms of economic growth and development, poverty reduction and environmental improvement;
2) Green Economy Fiscal Policy study - The identification and analysis of the required enabling policies and instruments, such as fiscal instruments to finance the Green Economy transition;
3) Green Economy Action Plan- The development of a Green Economy Action Plan (or Roadmap) for the country.
