Financial markets in emerging East Asia have shown mixed performance, with notable movements in currency, equity, and bond markets.
During the period from June to mid-August, the region's currencies strengthened against the US dollar, and risk premiums decreased, indicating improved investor confidence. The local currency bond market also saw growth, expanding by 2.3% to reach $25.1 trillion by the end of June, highlighting increased market activity and investment interest.
Despite economic headwinds in specific areas, emerging East Asia’s financial markets demonstrated resilience, with positive trends in currency strength, equity inflows, and bond market expansion.
