COVID-19 has exacerbated inequalities and revealed the accelerating implications of climate change and environmental degradation. As countries locked down, rates of domestic abuse spiraled upwards. As health systems struggle to manage the onslaught of cases, and schools and care services have shut down, women have stepped in to provide support for families, often at the expense of their own mental and physical health.

The Feminist Plan for Sustainability and Social Justice provides a roadmap for putting gender equality, social justice and sustainability at the centre of recovery and transformation. It maps the ambitious and transformative policies – on livelihoods, care and the environment – that are needed to build an equal and sustainable future.

Key levers for creating change at global, national and local levels are identified, calling for context-specific policy pathways, tailored political strategies and financing.
