This report maps out current Article 6 capacity building needs and ways to address them, analysing the future of programmatic approaches under the Paris Agreement and how transformational change be promoted through Article 6 cooperation.
Particularly, it presents a large-scale Article 6 readiness support programme supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and implemented by a consortium of partners under the leadership of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).
The Supporting Preparedness for Article 6 Cooperation (SPAR6C) programme supports partner governments of Colombia, Pakistan, Thailand, and Zambia to prepare to engage in Article 6 transactions through a focus on implementation and practical application of best practices.
