The latest climate science is clear - we must reduce global emissions by 45% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050 if we are to build a zero emissions and safe, resilient planet for all.
Cities represent up to 70% of global emissions and thus have a vital role to play. To survive and thrive, they must be resilient, healthy and equitable places to live and work. To achieve this, all cities should have a plan to adapt to climate change.
This report by the CDP - a global non-profit that runs the world’s environmental disclosure system for subnational governments and companies - reveals the huge progress in disclosure and action over the last decade, and where cities must urgently ramp up their ambition and efforts to secure a resilient, green recovery from COVID-19, and a climate-safe future.
