SEED's Green Recovery Snapshot

Green Recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic focuses on a future of economic progress alongside socially and environmentally sustainable, inclusive global value chains and markets.

This report from SEED details how prioritising green and social enterprises deliver triple returns – economic, social and environmental – in both short and long terms. SMEs are the backbone of economies worldwide, and green and social SMEs play an important role in delivering green recovery impact on the ground through their activities, products and services. In light of this, the report provides a snapshot of the status quo and potential of green and social enterprises as well as the current SME support landscape in different regions.

This report is intended for national policy makers and shapers; global policy and finance institutions; and researchers and civil society networks. Drawing on direct insights from micro, small and medium enterprises as well as eco-system support organisations, it highlights the existing support gaps, concrete examples and new opportunities for catalysing a green, inclusive recovery from COVID-19.
