Energy transition

This report presents a comprehensive framework to measure how prepared developing Asian countries are for a clean and just energy transition. Given the region’s large share of global population, energy use and emissions, its transition is critical for reaching global net-zero targets.

The report covers 26 countries, offering detailed insights across seven key dimensions, from infrastructure and investment to regulatory quality and social inclusion. Findings show that most countries still lag behind global and advanced economy standards in areas like infrastructure quality, regulatory strength and clean technology innovation.

The report also stresses the need for international support, better regulatory environments, and strong domestic financial systems to enable fair and sustainable transitions in both large and small economies.
