Enforcing Consumer Rights to Combat Greenwashing

This report looks at how human rights, consumer rights and climate goals all come together in the fight against misleading green claims. 

Based on expert input from 10 EU countries, the report shows how a human rights approach can help stop greenwashing. It highlights the legal gaps that let companies get away with misleading claims, and features real cases where consumers tried to hold them accountable.

The report also calls on the EU and its Member States to make laws stronger and easier to enforce, especially when it comes to proving greenwashing.
