The EU Green deal

The European Green Deal (EGD), launched in 2019, is the EU’s flagship strategy to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 while fostering a fairer, more sustainable economy. Covering sectors from energy and transport to food and industry, it has generated over 150 policies aimed at driving this transition.

This brief presents early insights from the EU Green Policy Tracker, a tool developed to assess how effectively EGD policies are being implemented across member states.

Initial findings show that national governments face significant challenges, including high workloads, and fast-changing policies are stretching government capacities.
