The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is developing a Simulation Tool based on coupled system dynamics models for the different indicators of the Green Growth Index. As illustrated in this technical report, such models are very complex but, at the same time, extremely useful in exploring relevant scenarios on future implications of policy and investment decisions on green growth transition.
This report presents the development of the Phase 1 Simulation Tool and steps ahead in developing Phase 2. It discusses the interlinkages of tool to the conceptual framework of the Green Growth Index and presents the process and methods for developing the tool’s models and scenarios. It also presents the mathematical models, the input and output variables for the equations, and sources of data as well as discusses selected results from the scenarios analyses for energy, transport, and land and water use.
