Growing Resilience: Unlocking the potential of nature-based solutions for climate resilience in sub-Saharan Africa

Nature-based solutions (NBS) are proving to be a powerful tool for building climate resilience in sub-Saharan Africa.

This report analyzes nearly 300 NBS projects from 2012 to 2023, highlighting where and how they are implemented, their funding sources and the co-benefits they provide.

The findings show that NBS projects have grown steadily, with an annual increase of 15% in new initiatives. These projects have secured over $21 billion in funding, primarily from multilateral banks, international donors and domestic budgets.
