To help meet the challenge of feeding a growing global population within planetary boundaries, this report explores the critical role of agricultural subsidies and their environmental impacts.

Convened by TESS, a diverse group of global experts reviewed evidence on how these subsidies shape production, consumption and sustainability across economic, environmental and social dimensions.

The report calls for a shared understanding of what constitutes environmentally harmful subsidies and outlines policy options from international frameworks to voluntary commitments to guide reform. Its goal is to support global dialogue and collaboration across institutions such as the WTO, FAO, UNEP and others to advance sustainable agriculture.
