Making the Invisible Visible: Towards a just circular transition for Bangladesh's Jhut workers

CE Making the invisible visible

Bangladesh’s textile industry is a major global exporter employing millions, but it faces growing social, economic and regulatory pressures.

This publication examines the post-industrial textile waste, or jhut, sector and its role in supporting circularity across the industry, including its implications for employment and decent work.

Drawing on field research, the study provides recommendations for policymakers, brands and buyers to help ensure that scaling circularity supports both sustainability goals and workers’ rights.
