From NIPs to Implementation: Lessons Learned Report

NIP-lessons-learned

This report compiles lessons learned and good practices from the development, updating and implementation of National Implementation Plans (NIPs) under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). It draws on experiences shared by countries participating in two Global Environment Facility (GEF) global NIP update projects, as well as other invited countries, GEF implementing agencies and non-governmental organizations.

The report is organized into four core areas: sustainable capacity and stakeholder engagement; technical elements and institutional capacity; financing NIP development, implementation and compliance; and processes for subsequent NIP updates.

It seeks to capture and disseminate these experiences to support more effective future implementation of the Stockholm Convention and strengthen global POPs management efforts.
