OECD Principles on Water Governance

The OECD Principles on Water Governance are intended to contribute to improving the “Water Governance Cycle”—from policy design to implementation. These 12 principles aim to enhance water governance systems that help manage “too much,” “too little,” and “too polluted” water in a sustainable, integrated, and inclusive way, at an acceptable cost, and in a reasonable timeframe. They are based on three mutually reinforcing and complementary dimensions of water governance—effectiveness, efficiency, and trust and engagement.
