Despite warnings and bans, pesticide usage has reached record levels worldwide, posing threats to biodiversity and resulting in long-term pollution of soil, water and air.

The Pesticide Atlas 2023 – Turkey Edition highlights the alarming situation regarding local pesticide use, particularly the severe health risks associated with exposure. Despite restrictions on certain pesticides in Turkey since 2018, violations continue to occur, evidenced by the detection of such chemicals in food products. 

The report calls for stronger international agreements to regulate pesticide use and underscores the importance of reducing reliance on chemical pesticides.
